The legendary English rock band The Who, have just announced details for their 50th anniversary tour for next year. Original members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will hit the road on their “The Who Hits 50 Tour”. It will comprise of a massive North American tour that starts in April and goes till May before the band takes a quick break and returns in September through October.

Daltrey issued a statement earlier this year about the tour being the last hurrah for the iconic rock band. “The beginning of the long goodbye” he said and these views were shared by Townshend as well. This special final tour will be boosted by the release of their greatest hits album called The Who Hit’s 50 and the record also features the previously released brand new track titled, “Be Lucky”. The tour will reportedly take fans on a wild ride through the bands career and will feature hits and crowd favorites that were carefully handpicked by the band. The Who have already proven that they are excellent live and will no doubt put on an intense and emotional farewell show.

  1. Are you kidding. didn’t the who scam us all with their 1982 or 83 retirement tour? Huge prices paid for comerrative merchandise that was doubled or tripled in price due to it being their last and final tour! So they told us? I have so much respect for the Beatles. They broke up and knew they were good enough to do solo work, without ever reforming again. The Stones, Black Sabbath and the Who are doing the last of their cha, ching tours and cleaning up the cash, before they physically they can no longer tour! What’s the cost of these concerts 300-1500 a seat, I’m assuming?
