Popular indie rock band Death Cab For Cutie is currently in the studio working on their eighth studio album. This will be their last album with longtime guitarist Chris Walla who will be leaving the band and has been confirmed for a 2015 release. The band is determined to win back fans that they may have lost from their last effort, Codes And Keys.
In an interview with Stereogum frontman Ben Gibbard had this to say on the new album. “I do think from start to finish it’s a much better record than Codes And Keys. If that record turned anybody off, I feel pretty strongly that this one could win them back. There are threads in this one that connect back to our earliest stuff that people love.” This return to form could be exactly what the band needs for a comeback. Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming album and eventual tour.
