The Seattle rock band has added more dates onto their ever growing world tour in support of their soon to be released album, Sonic Highways. The Foo Fighters will play eight concerts in the region early next year. Starting in February 18th in Christchurch, before visiting Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and wrapping up on March 7th in Perth.
The show at Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart will be the band’s first in the Tasmanian capital since 1998. Their show in Christchurch is their first ever in New Zealand’s most populated Southern Island city. The February and March tour, according to Frontier, which has a long association producing the bands shows in Australia and New Zealand, will be the band’s “biggest shows ever”.
The band last played Australia in 2011 and tickets for the upcoming shows will go on sale on November 13th. Punk rock titans Rise Against will be the main support for the tour, which makes this one of the most anticipated tours to hit Australia in years.
