According to the Sydney Morning Herald AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been arrested for attempting to plan a murder. Rudd was apparently attempting to hire a hitman on an unspecified target. Police arrested Rudd after raiding his home in New Zealand and also charged him with possession of methamphetamine and cannabis. He will appear in court on Thursday.
There is no news on whether this will affect the bands upcoming world tour next year, but there may be an opening spot for a new drummer. AC/DC will release their brand new album Rock Or Bust on December 2nd.
Update: Prosecutors have dropped murder charges on Rudd due to not enough evidence being provided. However, Rudd still faces charges of threatening murder and possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. If found guilty, he could serve up to seven years in prison.
