Kentucky based rock band, My Morning Jacket has just confirmed that they are recording two brand new albums. The first album will be due out in 2015, while the second will be released in 2016. These records will be the follow up to the bands 2011 album, Circuital.
In an interview with Jambase magazine lead frontman Jim James went into further detail on the upcoming albums. “I just had tons of songs this time,” he said before adding, “We didn’t even get to all of them”. According to James there were 24 possible songs that the band was considering adding to the albums. He finished by saying this, “I love making each record sound different, I love the thrill of putting on a record and feeling like you got the wrong one from the factory.”
While there is still no names or exact release dates for the new albums you can be certain that more info will be announced in the near future. This is also a good sign for fans of the bands excellent live shows and could be an indicator for an upcoming tour that could preview new tracks.
