Metallica confirms that they are currently working on new album

Legendary metal band Metallica have just revealed more news on their upcoming album. The band has not released a full length album since 2009 and have been filling their time with consistent touring around the world. Bassist Robert Trujillo went into more detail on the bands progress.

In an interview with Rock Cellar, Trujillo had this to say about the new album. “We’re just blueprinting everything right now, There are a lot of ideas, a lot of song bodies; you gotta go through the process. For me personally, I’m really excited about what we’ve been able to jam out.”

“I don’t like to make predictions, but I’d like to think — at least for me — that I’m really happy with what’s happening instrumentally. So let’s see how that journey continues. Writing a Metallica song is a journey and a process, and it takes time. But that’s what’s special about it. Metallica likes to nurture a song, nurture an arrangement.”

While this news may tell fans of the band that a new album is still a ways away it should also give people hope and something to look forward to in the future. The band still plans to keep busy in 2015 as they are headlining the Reading And Leeds Festival in the UK and Rock In Rio USA festival in Las Vegas.

  1. The question is: Are we waiting for a new Metallica album?
Me, personally, would prefer to keep watching those fantastic shows played in ’92 or ’93.

But maybe they would be convincing enough to make me buy the new album…
    Time will tell!

    • in all honesty I would rather they take their sweet time to come up with an album that will pleasantly surprise people rather then a rushed recording. Plus, their live shows can keep them in the game alone. Metallica shows are a lot of fun.

      • Agreed, but they have taken a lot of time already and the new song ‘Lords Of Summer’ wasn’t that great. Hopefully most fans will keep remembering what Metallica once was and not what it has produced in the last few years…
