Dream Theater will begin work on new album in February

Progressive metal titans, Dream Theater have just announced that they will be working on a brand new album. Lead vocalist James LaBrie told Simcoe.com that the band would reconvene in February to begin work on the follow up to 2013’s Dream Theater album.

Keyboardist of the band Jordan Rudess was interviewed by GetYourRocksOut at last year’s Sonisphere festival in the U.K. about whether the band would stop recording new albums. He reassured fans that there were no plans for the band to stop making new music and become a nostalgia act. “Oh, no no no. We love what we do. We’re passionate about making music and as composers; that’s just who we are. Dream Theater has never been a band that hit at a particular fashionable point and said, ‘OK, that’s basically it.’ We’re a band that really… It’s important to us to write music and put it out there and to work together. And we love it. And that’s why we keep going.”
