Founder of one of electronic music’s most beloved bands has passed away at 70. Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream has accordingly passed away “suddenly and unexpectedly” from the effects of a pulmonary embolism. He was residing in Vienna, Austria.
Froese founded Tangerine Dream in 1967 and remained the band’s only constant member through its six decade existence. The band is well known for having released over 100 albums in addition to scoring dozens of movie film scores and soundtracks. Froese will be missed dearly by fans of the band around the world.
