TMZ is currently reporting that former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight ran a man over with his car, and that the victim has died.
Witnesses told TMZ that Knight pulled up at the site of a commercial shoot in Compton involving The Game, Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre. Knight allegedly got into a verbal altercation with two crew members on set and when he returned to his vehicle to leave, he put the car in reverse and ran over Terry Carter, Knight’s friend who arrived with him in the car and who later died of his injuries. Carter was making his way around the rear of the vehicle to enter the passenger door when Knight sped backwards.
Two other men were also reportedly hit by Knight’s car; one has been identified as Cle “Bone” Sloane, an actor and activist. Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Knight’s lawyer is currently in the process of arranging his client’s peaceful surrender, it is unclear if the Sheriff’s Department will arrest him on hit and run charges or manslaughter.
TMZ’s sources claim that the crew members started the fight, and that Knight left because he was afraid due to his poor health. It is still unknown if the police will determine that he is not legally responsible because the incident occurred while Knight was fleeing in fear for his own life.
More on the story to be announced as it is ongoing.
