More details on the brand new upcoming album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers have just been released. The new album will be worked on by popular producer Brian Burton or more commonly known as Danger Mouse. Burton has worked with many high profile artists throughout his career like The Black Keys, U2 and more.
In a since deleted tweet, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea confirmed that Danger Mouse was the previously mentioned “unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music.”
Drummer Chad Smith went into more detail in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “We’ve done the ‘guys get in the room and jam out songs, everybody playing together all at once’ thing. And we wrote a bunch of songs that way. And we’re now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We’ve written and recorded in a way that we’ve never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it’s going to take off and we’re going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”
The album is expected to be released sometime this year and will be the bands follow up to 2011’s I’m With You.
