Pearl Jam planning a new album for 2016

pearljam_01Pearl Jam will return to the road in November for a South American tour. Afterward, according to bassist Jeff Ament, the band will begin work on a brand new studio album. Ament revealed the band’s plans in a new interview with VICE.

After spending much of 2014 touring extensively in support of the album, the band’s members have shifted focus to their various side projects as of late. Eddie Vedder joined The Who on stage during their most recent American tour and even collaborated with his daughter for a song. Mike McCready reunited with Mad Season for a one-off performance, and recently participated in a tribute concert to Iggy and the Stooges.

Fans of the band will be overjoyed with the news and the only thing that could make it better is the confirmation of a world tour in 2016. Fingers crossed Pearl Jammers!
