This years annual Rock In Rio music festival in Sau Paulo, Brazil played host to a number of top tier musical talent. One of the most anticipated acts on the lineup was the collaboration of pop star Adam Lambert and the legendary rock band Queen.
The two musical forces had already toured together but this was one of the few festival headlining spots they have played. While it is difficult for anyone to imagine replacing the epic vocals and charisma of former frontman Freddie Mercury, Lambert did a fantastic job that shined throughout the headlining set.
Running around the stage and belting out hit after hit the revived rockers have seemingly found new life with the infusion of Lambert. Partway through the show they even took a moment to preview Lamberts brand new single “Ghost Town” that got the crowd going. The show can only be seen as a success and while no one can say Lambert has replaced Mercury it is still a damn fine tribute to one of the greatest rock vocalists and bands ever formed.
Here is to hoping a longer tour is announced. Check out the full performance below.
