The wife of the late great John Lennon, Yoko Ono, has opened up about the speculation over his sexuality.

Beatles fans have long wondered about the late singer’s sexual orientation, with rumours suggesting an alleged affair with the band’s openly gay manager Brian Epstein.

Speaking to The Daily Beast to mark what would have been the legends 75th birthday, Lennon’s widow Ono stated that both of them saw bisexuality as a natural thing: “John and I had a big talk about it, saying, basically, all of us must be bisexual. And we were sort of in a situation of thinking that we’re not [bisexual] because of society. So we are hiding the other side of ourselves, which is less acceptable. But I don’t have a strong sexual desire towards another woman.”

Responding to a quote from Lennon himself that his relationship with Epstein was “almost a love affair… but never consummated”, Ono said: “The story I was told was a very explicit story, and from that I think they didn’t have sex.”

She added: “I’m sure Brian Epstein made a move, yeah… [Lennon] just didn’t want to do it, I think. I think he had a desire to [sleep with men], but I think he was too inhibited. The beginning of the year he was killed, he said to me, ‘I could have done it, but I can’t because I just never found somebody that was that attractive.’ Both John and I were into attractiveness – you know – beauty.”

  1. Coming from the woman who admitted sleeping with Hillary Clinton!!! WTF?? Read what Andy Peebles said about Yoko and her need for attention! Even if he was outright gay the man has been dead for 35 years, so why discuss it now?? John was humanitarian and spiritual which probably means that he was open to the CONCEPT and was not going to be discriminatory because of it. Yet acting on it was not for him. Meanwhile, Yoko had a toy boy relationship right after John died and was with him for 20 years…funny how she never opens her mouth about that! Go ask Andy Peebles, former Radio 1 disjockey for the BBC radio! And Yoko was into beauty?? How about not wearing sunglasses all the time esp at night and the top hat, in case no one ever told you Yoko, neither are attractive esp when you are 80 years old! PEACE, TRUTH and LOVE.

  2. Why do people always have to speak badly of someone after they’re gone? If you really want to imagine no posessions start by selling some of yours and helping people who have no food or place to live. What? Nothing to say to that one? Too busy making yet more money off of his name?
