Foo Fighters to go on indefinite hiatus

The rumors of the popular rock band known as the Foo Fighters going on hiatus are officially true.

Drummer Taylor Hawkins has confirmed in a new interview.

Yesterday New York Post’s Page Six reported news of the band’s impending “break.” The story noted that frontman Dave Grohl would be pursuing a solo project, “and [Hawkins] is pissed about it.” A representative for Foo Fighters called the story “utterly ridiculous,” but nevertheless, the band felt compelled to make a major announcement on Wednesday night.

Artisan News published an interview with Hawkins from January 16th. When asked about the band’s future, Hawkins broke the news of their hiatus — or, as the band jokingly calls it, an “ihateus.”

“We’re on ihateus right now, we’re on an indefinite ihateus,” Hawkins explained. He added that the decision “was not because we don’t love each other, or don’t want to make music together … We did so much in the last five or six years — we as a band could go into the studio tomorrow and have just as much fun as we ever had, but I think the world needs a break from us for a little while.”

Update: In a hilarious video the Foo Fighters poke fun at all of the attention they have been getting from the break up rumors. This still could mean that thy do not plan to tour or record music for some time since they have been very active the last few years and could very well need a break. Check out the video below.

  2. I ‘ll see y’all on the next tour your too dam funny I hope y’all got the cat skull necklace I threw actually at Dave Grohl while he was performing luckily I am a girl and I didn’t hit him in his jaw. LoL it actually went under his stage and he ran over it several times. I cried like a baby the whole show it was beautiful we was having some giant full moon thing that night and got to hear some Credence. At the end of the show they helped Grohl to his crutches and all five of em stepped over further making me cry. Then the bassist Nick kicked it and looked down and did a triple take and picked it up and carried her backstage her name is DOA. I miss her. Love you guys always have but your jokes aren’t foolin me your too good to even take a break. Hope to see you again soon. I’ll throw you another bone hahaha get it! I have jokes too!!
