David Gilmour announces new solo album and first tour dates in a decade

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has finally announced plans to release a new solo LP later this year, along with a short string of shows in support.

Gilmour has talked about the solo album in the past but this is the first official announcement for a solo tour. In an interview with Rolling Stone in October he went into a little more detail. “It’s coming along very well, there are some sketches that aren’t finished, and some of them will be started again. There’s a few months’ work in it yet. I’m hoping to get it out this following year.”

Below, check out the newly announced dates for Gilmour’s solo tour. It marks his first extensive outing since 2006.
